The Sealey Challenge, Day Five: Crow Mind

I'd read with Tobey Hiller a couple of times in the past, and I've enjoyed her crow poems immensely. Not long ago, I received her new chapbook, Crow Mindpublished by Finishing Line Press.

Since I've been observing (and yes, sometimes feeding walnuts to) a pair of corvids in our courtyard for many months, I really appreciate Hiller's crow poems. At turns thoughtful, playful and wry, the pieces reveal something about the poet's inner life as well as the behavior of the birds she watches.
