The Sealey Challenge, Day Twenty-three: Borrowed Bones

In the bio for Luis J. Rodríguez, it reads, "The 1993 memoir Always Running, La Vida Loca, Gang Days in L.A., with close to half a million copies sold, became one of L.A.'s most checked out in libraries--and one of the most stolen." This is true. Our copies keep getting stolen.

I don't think I had read any of Rodríguez's poems. I think they would be best experienced in community, with someone reading them out loud. My favorite lines from this collection: "History is a series of explosions; / in between we dream." ("Making Medicine").
