The Sealey Challenge, Day Ten: Some are Always Hungry by Jihyun Yun

This book was the winner of the Prairie Schooner Book Prize in Poetry, and the great Kwame Dawes is included in Yun's acknowledgments.  There is so much food (and starvation) in this collection. I don't know much about Korean cuisine, but this isn't directly a book about that, even if it includes poems in the form of recipes. The ingredients (and the hunger) are transformed into so much more in the poet's hands. Yun is young, but so talented, I think that the judge of the prize, Aimee Nezhukumatathil, is right in saying "I'm certain we'll be turning to [her] again and again."
