The Sealey Challenge, Day Three: Natural Takeover of Small Things by Tim Z. Hernandez

Hernandez is fearless in his description of subjects that are compromised, ugly, squalid, stuck, and otherwise eloquent in their darkness and poverty. His work often centers around Fresno, the San Joaquin Valley, and its residents, streets and institutions. But his poems lack the sentimentality or sensationalism that would have rendered them dull or difficult to read. His approach is straight forward, and he doesn't flinch. So the reader can't flinch.

I also found it extremely interesting, on a day when I was researching Steiner, Anthroposophy and Theosophy for a patron, that Hernandez included "akashic" in one of his poems. So I looked it up. It's all tied together, dear reader. *Raising and eyebrow.* Fascinating.
