I was struck by the complexity of the mother-&-(adult)-son relationships described in this book. Having only daughters, and now only grand-sons, I can see a difference in what is risked and at risk, how distance and danger might manifest in ways that are the result of traditional gender roles and reactions.
I also enjoyed this from "Blocked" :
...goodbye white guy who talks over me / & white
guy who I tell about white guy who talks over me / talks over me to say
why white guy / is such a dick inserting his own / joke about stopping me
to mansplain...
