For tomorrow's schedule, I have had to decide between two concurrent online events: a helpful local beekeeper meeting and the Sierra Poetry Festival.
Not long ago, I ditched a fantastic poetry reading just as it was starting because bees had swarmed in my backyard, and needed to be captured before dark. I was still putting them in the nuc box at night, and it was a lot of work, but I knew I had to put the bees first. That time.
To make up for that, I plan to arrive at the beekeeper zoom session a little late and leave a little early, and catch most of what promises to be a great poetry event. Kind of what you would call a "red letter day," for me. Hmm. Especially if you are comparing it to the excitement of a feast day in a 15th century church calendar, which is apparently where the term originated.
