Fall Asleep to Poetry, Wake up to Poetry

There are probably many more "real" poets to whom this is a usual routine, but for me, falling asleep thinking random could-be lines and phrases, and waking up to the same, is unusual. And welcome. I am writing this here with the hope that I will still have days/nights like this after April.

It would be just as exciting if I fell asleep mentally reciting poems (my own or other people's) that I was committing to memory, and if I rose in the same mode. I greatly admire those folks who carry multiple pieces around in their hearts. I remember reading that Madeleine L'Engle recited poems in her head as she swam laps. I think it was L'Engle, anyway. Them's some literary chops.
