I know that my friends and former instructors have won many awards and recognitions that I have not posted in this blog, but I wanted to point out two in particular that have happened recently. I'm so proud of these poets and impressed by their hard work and talent.
1. Jamaica Baldwin, one of my cohort at Pacific University's MFA program, has been awarded a NEA grant.
2. Ellen Bass, who encouraged me to apply for the MFA program to begin with, and who very graciously wrote a blurb for my chapbook several years ago, was just awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship.
Congratulations to them both!
