Baldwin is one of those iconic poets whose work I had somehow missed. Until now. This collection has given me a taste of his poetry, and the introduction by Nikky Finney was also very helpful.
I especially liked his "Inventory/On Being 52," perhaps because I'm not much older than that, and I've had similar feelings when I've approached the idea of an inventory. This is the beginning.
