Write a Love Poem

💘    It's a simple suggestion. Most poets write love poems. Some poets find their way into poetry specifically by reading and/or writing love poems.

💘    I am not such a poet. I have written two or three "love" poems, but they are slant, or couched in domesticity, and one is even entitled "How You Don't Inspire Me." I just don't gush. It's not in my nature to be vulnerable in that particular way. What would happen if I tried? Hard to say.  

💘    Actually, upon reflection, I feel as though I could write a love poem about almost anything but my husband, to whom I have been married 31 years this month. Regarding him? Words fail me.
