I just had an inquiry from the editor of an anthology in which two of my poems will appear. The copy editor had asked about italicizing two words in one of the pieces. It was a brilliant suggestion, and I immediately replied with a confirmation and appreciation for the thought.
This makes me wish I'd been more careful to ensure that the poem was ready to go before I sent it, but it also makes me grateful to the keen eyes and insight of the editors. Either way, a little lesson in literary humility.
