I didn't know anything about Ama Asantewa Diaka before reading this book. After reading it, I found myself wanting to know more about her, and about Ghana, since it plays such an important role in her life and work. I also found this fantastic video on afrowomenpoetry.net - it's a beautiful presentation of one the pieces in the book, "Love Yourself"
