The Sealey Challenge, Day 2: Ordinary Beast by Nicole Sealey

Nicole Sealey herself created this "challenge" and yet I hadn't read this book before today. I really enjoyed it, and as I posted elsewhere, I felt addressed and called in turn to speak because of it.

This book felt intimate and honest, and smart, but at the same time accessible and dignified. Even two days in to this challenge, I feel the stirrings of poetry, a muse waking up. Something. How can I write as they write? Say something true and of worth? Well, it will certainly never happen if I don't work at it.
